Carolina Occupational Therapy Hand & Upper Extremity Rehabilitation

The staff of Carolina Occupational Therapy Hand & Upper Extremity Rehabilitation (COTHUE) are committed to providing unsurpassed clinical outcomes and optimal patient experiences. We understand that life-altering injuries and conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow present significant challenges to our patients including, but not limited to, loss of independence with Activities of Daily Living, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living  . We strive to improve your quality of life by rendering the best care available,  Just as important, we want you to experience not just “best care,” but “best caring.” We will do everything possible to make your rehabilitation as successful and comfortable as possible.

Our full-time Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) bring 54 years of experience to the table.  With the addition of our PRN CHT, that number increases to 95 years.  We treat patients from 3 months old to 100+ years old.  As one of only TWO free-standing unaffiliated outpatient private practice hand therapy facilities in North Carolina we are highly specialized and our caseload is exclusively hand/upper extremity.  COTHUE is PROUD to serve the residents of Eastern NC as well as those who find themselves relocated to our region temporarily such as military members, East Carolina University students from out of the area/state, Pitt Community College students from out of the area, and local residents who may work/go to school out of the area but are in need of skilled Hand Therapy services upon their return.  Not only do we work in conjunction with local medical providers, but we frequently provide therapy services to those who may have been referred to a practitioner out of the area.  For example, COTHUE has/does provide local skilled Hand Therapy services for practitioners from Duke University, University Of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, Raleigh Hand Center, Raleigh Orthopaedics, Emerge Ortho of Wilmington, and many others over the past 31 years.
